ASW Technology

Advanced Wireless Control for Marine Environments

ASW WIRELESS AUTOMATION is the first fully integrated "smart environment" system specifically engineered for marine applications. By leveraging wireless technology, it transforms vessel operations into an interconnected system.

Decentralized Wireless Communication

ASW smart devices facilitate real-time, local communication without requiring a centralized PLC control system.

The system is integrated into the vessel’s infrastructure through a multi-protocol gateway, ensuring compatibility with major platforms, including NAVIOP, GARMIN, and SIMRAD.

Data transmission is seamless across independent or integrated displays with customizable screen layouts.

The network architecture supports single or multiple repeaters, enabling scalability and the integration of an unlimited number of wireless devices.

ASW Wireless Automation introduces the ‘Distributed Intelligence’ concept.

Unlike conventional monitoring systems, ASW sensors:

  • Continuously analyze and communicate real-time system status
  • Exchange data with other sensors for enhanced operational insights
  • Directly transmit processed outputs to monitoring displays
  • Can be easily scaled to add more sensors to the system
Eliminates the amount of cabling needed on the vessel reducing weight and maintenance cost.

F.A.Q.

What is ASW Wireless Automation?

ASW Wireless Automation enables secure, real-time management of sensors, control panels, and other devices through a wireless network, eliminating the need for complex wiring.

How does it work?

The ASW system operates on a wireless network formed by Gateways and Repeaters. Each additional component strengthens network performance, facilitating signal transmission and command execution.

Control & Command Execution

  • Each button can function in two modes:
    1. Direct Mode – Paired with one or more wireless relays via the dedicated application.
    2. PLC Mode – Integrated with the onboard PLC, issuing commands to devices without requiring relays.
  • The modular design allows for scalable expansion, enabling the addition of new devices at any time without onboard rewiring.
How is it integrated to onboard monitoring systems?

The onboard PLC connects to the network's Gateways via MODBUS or ETHERNET (HTML5) for seamless integration with vessel control systems.

Can I easily add more ASW sensors?

ASW devices automatically establish a self-configuring onboard network, ensuring full compatibility with other Amare ASW components installed on the vessel.

How does each sensor operate?

Each input key can be programmed in four different configurations.
